The weather is likely to be cloudy and rain expected in various places across the country today.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division this morning, the weather will be generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of moderate rain in some places in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province and a few places in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province and in the Terai areas.
Similarly, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the rest of the hilly areas of the country including Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province and partly cloudy in the rest of the Terai areas. There is a possibility of moderate rain in a few places in Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province and one or two places in the rest of the country.
According to meteorologists, less than 10 mm of rain in 24 hours is called light rain and 10 to 50 mm of rain is called moderate rain.
Similarly, 50 to 100 mm of rain is called heavy rain, 100 to 200 mm of rain is termed as very heavy rain, while 200 mm of rain is called extremely heavy rain.
Likewise, rain in one or two places means that there is a possibility of rain in less than 10 percent of the area in any place in the respective province.
If there is a possibility of rain in an area of 10 percent to 30 percent, it is said that it may rain in a few places.
Similarly, if there is a possibility of rain in an area of 30 percent to 50 percent, it is said that it may rain in some places.
Likewise, if there is a possibility of rain in an area of 50 percent to 80 percent, it is said that it may rain in many places.
If there is a chance of rain over more than 80 percent of the area, it is said that most places will likely experience rain.
