Twelve trekkers stranded on the trail in Langtang, Rasuwa, have been brought to Syafrubesi. According to the Rasuwa District Administration Office, twelve of the sixteen people from Bhaktapur who went trekking in Langtang were brought to Syafrubesi on Monday afternoon.
Rasuwa Chief District Officer (CDO) Rajesh Panthi reported that local representatives, the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and the local administration assisted in bringing them to Syafrubesi. Preparations are underway to send them back to Bhaktapur today itself.
"We finally brought them to the market area from a place about five hours from Syafrubesi," CDO Panthi said. "All security agencies in the district worked to rescue them. Now, eight members of the group are ready to return to Bhaktapur by car, and four have opted to take a helicopter at their own expense. The police are working to ensure they reach Bhaktapur by tonight."
Four of the sixteen people from Bhaktapur who began their trek to Langtang last Friday were swept away on Saturday evening by the Bering rivulet in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-4. While the search for these four missing individuals continues today, the other twelve who are safe are being sent home.
The missing people are Sangita Shrestha (26), her sister Sanskriti Shrestha (24), and her younger brother Kisan Shrestha (20), all from Dadhikot, Suryabinayak Municipality-4, Bhaktapur, and Rabi Shrestha (23) from Bhaktapur Municipality-10. CDO Panthi stated that the Nepali Army is currently searching for them using drones.
