The BP Highway that remained blocked following the floods last week has reopened from today after the construction of diversions at 19 locations.

Construction of temporary roads on various damaged sections of the BP Highway was accelerated to resume the transport service along the route.

The Division Road Office, Bhaktapur informed that the highway has been brought into full-fledged operation after testing the 'tracks' opened along the broken sections on Friday evening.

It is informed that by Friday evening, 'tracks' had been opened and tested from Chaukidanda in Namobuddha Municipality–6, Kavrepalanchok, to Mamti in Roshi Rural Municipality.

Office chief, senior divisional engineer Suman Yogesh shared that diversions have been completed at Chaukidanda, Katunje–Ghumaune, Charsayabesi, Gimdibesi, Narke, Chiuribas, Boksikuna, Kaldhunga, Dalawbesi and four locations in Piple, and two locations in Mamti.

It may be noted that the flooded Roshi River had washed away about four kilometers of road in the Roshi area. The monsoon disaster had damaged 17 sections of the highway.

Construction of the diversion had formally began since Tuesday.
