Major General of Nepali Army Ganesh Kumar Shrestha has been promoted to the post of Lieutenant General.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday promoted Shrestha as the Lieutenant General.
Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel conferred an insignia of the rank on Shrestha amidst a program organized at the army headquarters in Bhadrakali on Sunday.
The post was lying vacant after former Lieutenant General Nirmal Kumar Thapa retired on ground of age (58) from the Nepali Army on October 11.
Similarly, Lieutenant Pradeep Jung KC has been appointed to the post of Chief of General Staff.
