Karnali beats Janakpur by 3 runs in NPL last league stage match

Defending champion Janakpur has to satisfy with a single win

Karnali Yaks has defeated Janakpur Bolts by 3 runs in the last league stage match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 held in Kirtipur. Janakpur, the defending champion of the previous season, had to satisfy with a single win in the Season 2. 

Karnali restricted Janakpur to 126/7 runs while the latter was chasing the 130-run target.

To limit the opponent from reaching the target, William Bosisto took the highest 2 wickets while Mark Watt, Pawan Sarraf, Nandan Yadav and Sompal Kami claimed 1 wicket each for Karnali.

Despite Sanjay Krishnamurthi's 51-run score, Janakpur could not reach the target. Krishnamurthi hit 1 four and 4 sixes off 39 balls. Similarly, Sangeeth Cooray scored 25 runs followed by Jan Nicol and Maaz Sadaqat with 13 and 13 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.

In reply, Lalit Rajbanshi and Aaditya Mahata took 2 wickets each while Sangeeth Cooray, Anil Sah and Maaz Sadaqat claimed 1 wicket each for Janakpur.
