Lumbini Lions lifted the trophy of the Nepal Premier League 2025 Season 2 by defeating Sudurpaschim by 6 wickets in the final match.

With the win, Lumbini won the NPL 2025 Season 2 title along with a cash prize of Rs 11 million.

Sudurpaschim, on the other hand, had to satisfy with the first runner-up position, as in the previous edition, and got a cash prize of Rs 5.1 million. It had lost to Janakpur Bolts by 5 wickets in the previous edition of the NPL 2024.

Chasing the paltry 85-run target set by Sudurpaschim, Lumbini managed to reach it in 9 overs, losing 4 wickets.

Dinesh Adhikari topped the score with 42 runs including 1 four and 5 sixes off 13 balls followed by captain Rohit Paudel with 16 runs while D'Arcy Short and Niroshan Dickwella contributed 14 and 11 runs, respectively.

On the bowling side, Hemant Dhami took 2 wickets while Dipendra Singh Airee and Abinash Bohara claimed 1 wicket each for Sudurpaschim.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground on Saturday, Surdurpaschim notched up 85 runs losing all wickets in 19.1 overs.

Ishan Pandey's 33-run score was the highest for Sudurpaschim. Pandey hit 1 four off 51 deliveries followed by Dipendra Singh Airee with 13 runs while Harmeet Singh and Scott Kuggeleijin scored 10 runs each. The other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.

To restrict Sudurpaschim to such a low target, Ruben Trumpelmann, Sher Malla, and Rohit Paudel took 3 wickets each while Tilak Bhandari claimed 1 wicket for Lumbini Lions.

Similarly, Biratnagar Kings clinched the second runner-up, winning a cash prize of Rs 2.5 million while Kathmandu Gorkhas had to satisfy with the fourth position and won a cash prize of Rs 1.5 million in the NPL Season 2.

Hosted by the Cricket Association,  a total of eight teams had competed in the NPL 2025 Season 2 that had started on November 17.
