Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has returned to the party office where he was received with a warm welcome. He reached the party's central headquarters in Banasthali, Kathmandu, on Saturday afternoon.

Upon his arrival, he was greeted by party leaders, cadres, and supporters with traditional musical instruments and a grand celebration. Lamichhane was escorted into the office following his release from Nakkhu prison on last Friday. He was released after he posted a bail of Rs 37.5 million at the Rupandehi District Court, acting on an order from the Butwal Bench of the High Court, Tulsipur regarding the Supreme Cooperative fraud case.

According to RSP spokesperson Manish Jha, Chairman Lamichhane entered the party office today for the first time in eight and a half months. Spokesperson Jha noted that Lamichhane’s last visit to the office was on April 1.

Lamichhane had chaired a special meeting of the RSP Central Working Committee that day. He was subsequently arrested by police from his residence on the evening of April 5 after the Butwal Bench of High Court, Tulsipur reversed a previous district court order and ordered him to be sent to custody.

Prior to that, on January 27, the Rupandehi District Court had ordered his release on a bail of Rs 10 million. However, the Butwal Bench of High Court, Tulsipur has now once again ordered Lamichhane's release on bail.

After traveling to Rupandehi last Friday to settle the bail amount, the former Home Minister addressed party workers in Chitwan on Saturday. Following his return to Kathmandu on Saturday afternoon, he was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by RSP leaders and activists with a fanfare.
