Singer and actor Prashant Tamang has passed away. He died of a heart attack at the age of 43.
According to filmmaker Rajesh Ghatani, he was found dead. “I spoke to his family members,” he told Nepalkhabar, “He died in his sleep. Family members said he had a heart attack.”
The winner of Indian Idol Season 3, he has sung many famous Nepali songs, including Hindi.
He has also acted in Nepali films ‘Gorkha Paltan’ and ‘Pardeshi’. The Nepali songs he has sung include ‘Asare Mahinama’, ‘Rato Rani’, ‘Gorkha Paltan’, ‘Ghamko Maya’, ‘Man Saili’, and ‘Musu Musu…'
Born on January 4, 1983 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, Tamang’s family background was ordinary.
After his father’s death at a young age, he served as a constable in the Kolkata Police to take care of the family and was active in the police orchestra.
He is survived by his wife and has a daughter.
