Ranju Darshana, a noted figure on the Nepali political spectrum, has filed her candidacy from Kathmandu Constituency-1 for the elections of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.
Darshana reached the Election Officer's Office in Baneshwar and registered her candidacy with the bell as the election symbol. Darshana had contested the local level elections for the mayoral post of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in 2017. She had garnered 23,439 votes in that elections.
Darshana had remained neutral following the series of splits and unifications between Bibeksheel and Sajha Party.
Talking to journalists after filing her nomination, Darshana said, "The denizens in the Kathmandu Valley had seen me as a ray of hope in the previous mayoral election, now I have filed my candidacy for the HoR member to translate your hope into belief."
Rabindra Mishra from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Prabal Thapa from Nepali Congress are in the fray for the HoR elections.
