Nepali Congress (NC) is set to have nine federal constituencies in the home province of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in the Sudurpashchim Province.
As per the deal sealed by the five-party alliance the NC will have nine federal constituencies out of total 16 constituencies in the elections slated for November 20 in the Sudurpashchim Province.
Out of 16 federal constituencies in the nine districts, the CPN (Maoist Center) will have four constituencies while the CPN (Unified Socialist) will field its candidates in three constituencies.
The NC will have constituencies in Dadeldhura, the home district of Prime Minister Deuba, Darchula, Bajura, and constituencies 2 and 3 of Kanchanpur.
Similarly, constituencies 1, 4 and 5 of Kailali and constituency 2 of Achham have been allocated for the NC, informed the task-force led by Krishna Prasad Sitaula.
According to the source, the constituency-1 of Kanchanpur, constituencies 2 and 3 of Kailali and Baitadi have been allotted for the Maoist Center.
Similarly, the Unified Socialist will field its candidates in Bajhang and Doti while the Maoist Center will field its candidates in Achham.
According to the agreement reached among the five-party alliance, the NC will have 85 or 86 seats, the Maoist Center 45 or 46 seats, the Unified Socialist 17, Janata Samajwadi Party will have 15 seats while Rastriya Janamorcha will have two seats.
