India has reduced the grant for Nepal as it continues to allocate it to its neighboring and other countries in its annual budget.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Nepal will receive Rs 8 billion for the Fiscal Year 2026-27.
In the current FY 2025-26, India had allocated Rs 8.3 billion. India has reduced the grant for Nepal by Rs 300 million in the coming fiscal year.
Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated a total of Rs 53 trillion for the Fiscal Year 2026-27.
According to the External Affairs Ministry, India has allocated Rs 22 billion 885 million 600 thousand for Bhutan. Rs 19 billion 500 million had been allocated in the previous fiscal year.
Similarly, Rs 1 billion 500 million has been allocated for Afghanistan. It had received Rs 1 billion in previous fiscal year. Bangladesh had received Rs 344 million 800 thousand in last fiscal year. Rs 600 million has been allocated this time.
Likewise, Rs 4 billion has been allocated for Sri Lanka. It had received Rs 3 billion in the last fiscal year. Rs 5.5 billion has been allotted for Maldives this time. It had received Rs 6.25 in the previous fiscal year.
India has allocated Rs 3 billion for Myanmar this fiscal year. This country had received Rs 2 billion in the previous fiscal year. Similarly, Mangolia which received Rs 250 billion in the previous fiscal year is to receive the same amount of grant this time.
Likewise, African countries, which had received Rs 2. 11 billion last year, is going to receive Rs 2.25 billion this fiscal year.
Similarly, India has allocated Rs 380 million for Eurasian countries, Rs 1.2 billion for Latin American countries and Rs 800 million for developing countries, according to the External Affairs Ministry of India this fiscal year.
The fiscal year in India begins on April 1 and ends on March 31 every year.
