In a strategic move to capture the North American travel market, the Embassy of Nepal in Ottawa and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) hosted a high-profile "Nepal Evening" in Toronto on February 19, 2026. The event served as a powerhouse networking hub, uniting Canadian outbound tour operators with Nepali entrepreneurs to forge new partnerships and drive tourism growth.
The gala coincided with Nepal’s prominent presence at the world-renowned Outdoor Adventure Show, held at the International Center. Addressing a room of travel industry leaders, Mr Bharat Raj Paudyal, Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, framed the country not just as a destination, but as a "transformative experience" that merges world-class adventure with deep spirituality.
Ambassador Paudyal highlighted Nepal’s unmatched geography—home to Mt Everest and eight of the world’s fourteen 8,000-meter peaks. Beyond the rugged appeal of trekking and mountaineering, he emphasized a modern shift in Nepal’s tourism infrastructure, which now caters to luxury seekers, business executives, and wellness enthusiasts looking for high-end Himalayan retreats.

For Canadian travelers, the message was clear: Nepal is more accessible than ever. The Ambassador noted that convenient air connectivity through major global hubs, combined with visitor-friendly visa-on-arrival and electronic authorization options, makes the journey seamless. From the birthplace of Lord Buddha to UNESCO World Heritage sites, Nepal is positioning itself as a premier destination for cultural and spiritual immersion.
The "Nepal Evening" concluded with a networking reception designed to solidify business ties between the two nations. As the Outdoor Adventure Show continues through February 22, the Nepali delegation remains on the ground, actively engaging with the Canadian public to bring the spirit of the Himalayas to the heart of Toronto.
