At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), BMW showcased a pair of color-changing concept cars. The vehicles resemble a combination between a Tesla Model 3 and a vintage BMW sports sedan.
Both vehicles are dubbed the BMW I Vision Dee, which stands for "Digital Emotional Experience."
One of the vehicles is capable of "color-changing". This concept was shown at CES last year, however, the color was just modified to several shades of gray.
This year, the automobile cab changes through a variety of hues, with different elements of the car body displaying different colors at the same time.
The other automobile, on the other hand, relies on digital capabilities such as augmented reality. The closed grille and the headlight also form a shared physical and digital icon on a uniform surface, allowing the vehicle to exhibit many facial expressions.
The vehicle also boasts a head-up display that spans the full windshield. Images may be projected onto the side windows of the concept automobile as well. The motorist can design and project his or her own avatar on the side window.
Aside from the avatar, the driver may project additional information and material via a dashboard, which is like a projection and can detect fingers via sensors on the surface. The business calls it the "Mixed Reality Slider."
Some of the features of this concept will make its debut on the Neue Klasse cars starting in 2025.
