Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has officially nominated Vice President DP Aryal for the position of Speaker.
The decision was finalized during a parliamentary party (PP) meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday. President Rabi Lamichhane proposed Aryal's candidacy, which received unanimous approval from the party members.
Key dates for the election
The upcoming legislative leadership elections are scheduled as follows:
April 3: Registration of nominations.
April 5: Election for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
Notably, Prime Minister Balendra Shah, who also serves as RSP parliamentary party (PP) leader, will not be attending the meeting.
