Three held for draining over Rs 225,000 from bank account following mobile theft

Police have arrested three individuals on the alleged charge of withdrawing over Rs 225,000 from the owner's back account after looting the mobile.

The arrested are Samir Tamang, 19, of Kathmandu-11, currently staying at Budhanilkantha-11, Jagdol, Janam Tamang, 18, of Dolakha, Melung-5, Dandakharka, currently staying at Budhanilkhantha-6 and Prajwal Rai, 18, of Kotang, Kopilasgadhi-7, currently staying at Budhanilkhantha-13.

A team of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had arrested them from the Valley on April 10 in connection with the mobile robbery.

They had transferred Rs 227,600 maintained in the victim's bank account and wallet to another bank account after having unauthorized access to the pin code of the mobile bank account, SP Rameshwar Karki told Nepalkhabar.

They are investigating the case after taking the looters and the mobile phone set under control, Karki said.
