Nepal Police have warned of ride-sharing drivers for having private conversations with service recipients, using abusive language and recording the video and posting it on social media.
Service recipients use ride-sharing apps in the morning, afternoon and even at night. This behavior of riders violates the citizens' right to privacy.
The District Police Range Kathmandu has asked ride-sharing drivers not to have private conversations with service recipients, not to use abusive language, and to speak in a dignified and professional manner. The police have warned that they will take action as per the law if they do not improve their behavior.
Ride-sharing apps including Pathao, InDrive, and Yango are popular in Nepal, of late. Millions of people including both male and female use this service daily in cities including Kathmandu and Pokhara.
