The Nepal government has started paying salaries to employees every 15 days as a pilot project starting today.
Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle launched the work of paying salaries to employees within 15 days during a program organized at the Ministry of Finance this afternoon.
Finance Minister Wagle started the work of paying salaries within 15 days by sending a payment order to the Treasury and Accounts Controller's Office through the Computerized Government Accounts System (CGAS), the salary entry system of the Comptroller General's Office.
With the order of the Finance Minister, the employees of the Ministry of Finance have received the first half-monthly (15 days) salary of the Nepali month of Baisakh.
Inaugurating the work of paying salaries every 15 days, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle said that the government has decided to make the economy dynamic. "Paying salaries every 15 days makes the market dynamic. Both consumption and demand will increase," said Finance Minister Wagle, "This is being implemented as a pilot project for federal civil servants. Gradually, all government employees will get this facility."
Finance Minister Dr Wagle on April 17 had decided pay salaries to government employees every 15 days as a pilot project.
