Thirteen Nepali nationals taken hostage in Malaysia have been rescued. Six among those rescued are returning home on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off that Nepali migrant workers are being taken hostage in Malaysia, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Monday morning directed Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi to take the initiative to rescue them.
In response to the direction, the Foreign Ministry had contacted with the Nepali Embassy for their rescue. The Nepali Embassy tracked them down and rescued them.
With the rescue, the 13 Nepalis who were working at the PRS Forest Management Company are returning home.
According to the information provided by the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia, the 13 Nepali migrant workers are have been kept in a Nepali hotel, currently.
