The government has brought a budget of Rs 2 trillion 124 billion 340 million for the upcoming fiscal year (FY) 2026/027.
Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle presented the income and expenditure estimates for the upcoming fiscal year in a joint meeting of both houses of Federal Parliament today. This budget is the largest so far.
Finance Minister Wagle has allocated Rs 1 trillion 270 billion 580 million, or 59.8 percent of the budget, for current expenditure.
Similarly, Rs 431 billion 100 million, or 20.3 percent of the total budget, has been allocated for capital expenditure and Rs 422 billion 640 million, or 19.9 percent, for financial management, Minister Wagle said.
This budget is 25 percent more than the revised estimate for the current fiscal budget.
