The Nepali national cricket team has registered its second consecutive win in the ACC Women's Premier Cup held in Malaysia.
Nepal registered its second consecutive win by defeating Bhutan by 51 runs in the second match of the group stage on Thursday. Chasing a 114-run target set by Nepal, Bhutan could only score 62 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Dechen Wangmo's 39-run score was the highest for Bhutan. Chado Om added 11 runs. No other batters could reach the double-digit score.
Rubina Chhetri took three wickets for 15 runs in four overs to keep Bhutan at a low score. Riya Sharma took two, Kabita Kunwar and Manisha Upadhyay took one wicket each.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal scored 113 runs in 20 overs at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar Cricket Oval, Mantin in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Nepal's top and middle-order batters were unable to stay at the crease for long, and Nepal was at 6-47 in 9.2 overs at one point.
Nepal made a comeback in their innings after Sita Rana Magar and Rubina Chhetri put on a 40-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Sita scored 37 runs off 28 balls with the help of 6 fours. Rubina added 24 runs. Soni Pakhrin added 13 and Samjhana Khadka added 10 runs.
For Bhutan, Sonam took three wickets for 12 runs in her spell. Tshering Jangmo took three wickets for 21 runs in four overs.
Nepal will play Hong Kong in the final match of the group stage on Saturday.
