Six rebel candidates of Nepali Congress (NC) have been penalized for filing their candidacies against those officially fielded by the ruling alliance.
NC Kailali District Working Committee expelled six candidates along with their seconders and proposers by stripping them of their general memberships for five years.
Those facing actions are Nabin Kumar Bohara who filed his candidacy from Kailali-3, Bharat Kumar Shahi (Kailali-2 (2), Govinda Raj Joshi (Kailali-3 (2), Laxman Shahi (Kailali-3 (2), and Bhagawati Pathak Ojha who filed her nomination from Kailali-4 (2).
Similarly, Kamal Kumar BK, the seconder of Bharat Kumar Shahi, Kamal Bahadur Baduwal, the proposer of Govinda Raj Joshi and seconder Devi Ram Khatri have also been expelled.
The seconder of an independent candidate of the House of Representatives, Nawa Raj Joshi is among those penalized by the party.
A total of 10 leaders including seconders and proposers have faced action.
