On the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), the most influential tech event in the world, some of the most advanced tech items from various fields were showcased.
The event was held for three days from January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas for the first time after 2020. Some of the amusing tech items displayed on the expo are as follows:
Auto- mobile industry
BMW concept car reveal: The most notable reveal in this field is BMW’s concept models of color changing car and integration of advanced technology like augmented reality respectively. Some of the aspects of this concept model will be integrated in some of the BMW cars coming to market in 2025.
Flying car reveal: Furthermore, a flying car was presented in this year’s event. A company called Aska showcased its A5 flying car which is more than a concept. The company has opened preorders for the USD 789,000 vehicle.
Health sector
Calming pillow: It is a fluffy pillow that gently expands and contracts, vibrating as you hold it against your stomach. It is a tech developed on research done at University of Tokyo which helps remote workers struggling to switch off from their jobs.
A foldable treadmill: Though it is already known tech, a foldable treadmill was also presented in the event. It is a lightweight treadmill that can be folded in two when not in use and stored against a wall or under a bed.
Entertainment
Samsung 8k projector: Samsung unveiled its premier projector, an ultra-short throw projector that can create an image of up to 150 inches diagonally on your living room wall.
A TV that puts other to shame: LG's 97-inch model was actually unveiled last year, but in 2023, it's gone wireless. That means the world's largest screen with the best picture that technology allows is now free of that ugly jumble of cords.
Invisible laptop touchpads: LG showcased its new Gram Style laptop, which features a hidden touchpad that presents itself only when you touch the palm rest. The stealthy haptic touchpad lights up under your fingers when touched, showing you where to tap and drag to navigate the screen.
So, these are some of the fascinating tech items unveiled in CES 2023. Further tech like foldable with slide, e-dog with multiple personality, Sony’s car, E-boat etc., are also other notable technologies revealed. (With inputs from Agencies)
