Bagamati Province allocates budget for journalists' engagement in SSF

The Bagamati Province has prepared to enroll journalists based in the province in the Social Security Fund (SSF) and insurance scheme.

The government in the budget speech for the fiscal year 2083-84 BS has allocated a budget amounting to Rs one million to include province-based journalists in the SSF and insurance, in recognition of press freedom.

According to the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Bagamati Province chapter, there are over 2,500 active journalists across the 13 districts in the province. The FNJ demands effective implementation of the budget announcement to this end.
