The Speical Court has granted permission to keep CPN (UML) Vice Chairman and former Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel in judicial custody for three more days.
The Special Court, Kathmandu, on Monday granted permission to keep Paudel in judicial custody for additional three days. Earlier, it had granted permission to keep him in custody for seven days.
The extension was granted by a bench of Special Court Judges Narayan Prasad Paudel, Hemanta Rawal and Umesh Koirala.
The Money Laundering Investigation Department had submitted the application to the court for a remand extension on Monday. The Department had arrested Paudel from Suva Hotel in Surkhet on June 22.
The department is investigating Paudel on money laundering-related offenses.
