RPP Chair Lingden set to become DPM and Energy Minister

Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden is set to become Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister.

The RPP has got the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

According to sources, the RPP has decided to appoint Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan as the minister for Urban Development and Deepak Bahadur Singh as the Minister of State for Urban Development.

Similarly, preparations are underway to appoint either Bikram Pandey or Dhawal Shumsher Rana to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Three weeks after the formation of a small cabinet on December 26, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is expanding the Council of Ministers today.

A meeting of the ruling coalition led by CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli, struck a deal on the distribution of 17 ministerial portfolios in Baluwatar yesterday evening.

As per the deal sealed by the coalition meeting, CPN (Maoist Center) will get four ministers and one state minister.

The new ministers will take an oath of office and secrecy at 1 pm, according to the agreement.

An all-party meeting including the Nepali Congress has been called for 4 pm after the swearing-in ceremony of the new ministers.

As per the distribution of ministerial portfolios, CPN (UML) has got eight ministries. Currently, UML has four ministers including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister.

Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Center) has got four ministries including a state minister. Currently, the Maoist Center has Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister and Physical Infrastructure. Now it will receive three more ministers and one state minister.

Rastriya Swatantra Party has got the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor apart from the Deputy Minister and Home Minister.

Janata Samajbadi Party has been given two ministries. However, it has not agreed to it, according to a minister privy to the meeting.

Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' who was elected as the prime minister of Nepal with the support of 169 lawmakers on December 25 formed an eight-member cabinet the following day.
