The nominations are being registered for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives today (Wednesday).
According to a schedule published by the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the filing of nominations for the post will begin at 1 pm and last till 4 pm.
The name-list of the candidatures for the post will be published after 4 pm.
The election of the speaker is scheduled to be held on Thursday. A meeting of the House of Representatives has been called for 11 am tomorrow.
There is a constitutional provision that the Speaker should be elected from among the members of parliament within 15 days after the commencement of the HoR.
As per the agreement reached among the coalition partners, the speaker is given to the CPN (UML).
