Janamat Party, which decided not to join the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led cabinet, has decided to support the candidate fielded by the ruling coalition for the post of Speaker.

Delivering his views in the meeting of the House of Representatives today, Janamat Party Chairman Dr. Chandra Kanta (CK) Raut stated that his party will vote for Devraj Ghimire, a candidate fielded by the ruling coalition.

“Our votes will go to Ghimire since Janamat Party is associated with the ruling coalition,” said Raut.

He further said that there is no meaning of the discourse on national consensus by sidelining Madhesi and Tharu communities, referring to the Nepali Congress.

“The discourse of national consensus is meaningless by sidelining the Madhesi people,” said Raut, “We are above the partisan interest. When will you get rid of your class-based prejudice?,” questioned Raut.

Meanwhile, he stressed the national consensus to bail the country out of the present political crisis.
