Nepali Congress lawmaker Mukta Kumari Yadav has filed her candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker.
Deputy General Secretary Badri Pandey proposed Yadav for the post while her candidacy was seconded by CPN (Unified Socialist) lawmaker Metmani Chaudhary and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party lawmaker Sarbendra Nath Shukla.
Earlier, Indira Rana Magar of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) filed her candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker.
RSP’s Sobita Gautam proposed Rana Magar for the post while her candidacy was seconded by UML lawmaker Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Narayani Sharma and Rajendra Lingden of Rastriya Prajatantra Party.
The election for the post of Deputy Speaker is scheduled for Saturday.
In the election held for the post of Speaker, UML leader Devraj Ghimire was elected as the Speaker defeating Ishwari Neupane of Nepali Congress.
