  1. Is it baseless news that Rabi Lamichhane, who obtained citizenship from District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu in 1993, went to America and took American citizenship there?

  2. Didn't he apply for US citizenship thinking he would be in trouble if he came back to Nepal?  Is it false that accepting his application, the US government issued a passport number 512966981 on March 5 2014?

  3. Didn't Rabi come to Nepal on May 11, 2015 on a non-tourist visa using an American passport? The fact that he made Nepalese passport on the 16th day of his arrival in Nepal on May 27, and Nepal's visa was added to the American passport, is baseless?

  4. Is the legal system of Nepali citizenship being invalid after acquiring foreign citizenship also baseless? If it is true, why did he use the old citizenship, with number 18222, taken from the DAO in 1991?

  5. Why did he show his American passport at the Tribhuvan International Airport when he went to America on October 18, 2015 after making a Nepali passport? At that time, was his heart Nepali or American?

  6. Didn't Rabi start working at News 24 Television, using chance of having a Nepalese visa on his American passport? In his letter to the Immigration Department, he has mentioned that he obtained a work permit while living in Nepal as an American citizen. However, it is clearly stated in Section 20 (1) of the Immigration Regulations, 2051, 'Foreigners who are granted visas as tourists and family members will not be allowed to work in any industry, trade, business or organization with or without remuneration while staying in Nepal.' The question of what legal basis he was working on, is baseless?

  7. Is Rabi's request to renounce his American citizenship and passport at the American Embassy in Nepal on May 18, 2018 only after the Press Council questioned him about American citizenship for coming to Nepal on non-tourist visa and working on television, baseless?

  8. He who has been holding an American passport until mid-June 2018, is he liable to use the Nepali passport made on May 27, 2015? Didn't he use a Nepali passport when he went to Japan and South Korea on September 20, 2018? Is the question raised on the use of dual passports baseless?

  9. Wasn't there a complaint filed at the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding misguiding the government agencies and taking passports? Where are the instructions given by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the district administration, and the district administration to the police for investigation? Is the issue of the investigation halted after he assumed office as the Home Minister, baseless?

  10. Rabi is not a citizen of Nepal, so all his public positions have been revoked by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court? Is it unfair on him to expect that a detailed analysis of this issue is coming in the full text of the Supreme Court?

  11. Is the situation of being criminally charged and confirmed for a passport offense baseless? In the Passport Act 2076, there is no provision for fines and punishments for 'getting or trying to get a passport or travel permit by giving false information'? Is it illegal for the media to quote that there is a legal provision that a person who does such a thing is punished with a fine of two to five hundred thousand rupees or imprisonment for one to three years or both?

  12. After establishing a party and becoming a leader, will Rabi be above the law of the country? Good governance is only his slogan or commitment? Rabi should not leave the government in the face of not getting a home minister, isn't there a voice in his own party that there are other capable leaders? But, is Rabi's decision without listening to anyone baseless? (Translated in English from Kantipur National Daily)
