23 killed, 918 rescued as flooding triggered by incessant rains wreaks havoc in Valley

At least 23 people have been killed in the Kathmandu Valley due to floods triggered by incessant rains continuing since Thursday.

Among those killed are nine from Kathmandu, nine from Lalitpur and five from Bhaktapur, Said SSP Binod Ghimire of Kathmandu Valley Police Office.

"One has gone missing in the swollen flooding in the Kathmandu Valley. As many as 918 people have been rescued," said SSP Binod Ghimire.

Ten people have sustained injuries in Kathmandu and one in Bhaktapur.

Four houses in Kathmandu and one house in Bhaktapur have been washed away so far.

As many as 1,244 houses have been inundated in th Valley.
