Newly elected National Assembly Vice Chairperson Urmila Aryal has been sworn in.

NA Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timalsina administered the oath of office and secrecy to her amidst a special ceremony organized at the Office of the President this morning.

President Bidya Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Speaker Devraj Ghimire among others were present in the ceremony.

Aryal was elected as the NA vice chairperson unopposed on Monday after main opposition Nepali Congress extended support to her by not fielding its candidate for the post.

The post had been lying vacant after former Vice Chair Shashikala Dahal retired last year.
