PM Dahal, Oli meet at Baluwatar

Dwell on president’s elections

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachand' and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli have held a meeting on Tuesday morning.

The meeting held at Baluwatar discussed issues including the presidential election and contemporary politics, Prime Minister’s Secretariat said.

The Election Commission (EC) has set the date for the presidential election. According to the EC, the presidential election will be held on March 9. In the meeting heavyweighrs also discussed about the way ahead following the decision of the Rastriya Swatantra Party to leave the coalition government.

UML has been claiming the presidency, while Prime Minister Dahal has no intention of giving UML the post to it.

The prime minister has been reiterating a national consensus on the president’s election, toeing the line of main opposition Nepali Congress.
