During the merger with Himalayan Bank, Civil Bank employees have started a protest expressing dissatisfaction with the staff adjustment.

The President of Civil Bank Employees' Union, Satyandra Niraula, said that they have started a pen down for 2 hours at the branch offices across the country from 10:00 am today in protest against the reduction of one level.

He said that the staff adjustment is being discussed with the management and the pen has been put down to increase the pressure on them.

The initial merger agreement between Himalayan and Civil Bank was signed last June and the final merger agreement was signed last December. But the integrated business is ready to start from February. Currently, software matching, staff adjustment, etc. are being done.

Another high-level employee of Civil Bank says that since Himalayan Bank CEO Ashok Shamsher Rana is mourning the death of his father Himalaya Shamsher, it is difficult to discuss the issue of employee dissatisfaction.
