Rawal lost his job as the Chief Minister after Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP), which supported it when the government was formed on January 11, did not give a vote of confidence.
Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari announced that the motion of confidence presented by Chief Minister Rawal in the provincial assembly meeting was rejected.
On January 11, UML parliamentary party leader Rawal became the Chief Minister with the support of 29 lawmakers including 10 from CPN (UML), 11 from the CPN (Maoist Center), 7 from the NUP and 1 from the RPP.
There is a constituitonal provision that the chief minister has to take the vote of confidence within one month after the appointment.
