American officials have come to Nepal to inspect Nepal's air security on Thursday.

American officials have come to inspect Nepal's airspace as part of preparatory work for a direct flight between Nepal and America.

Raju Shrestha, in-charge of air security of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, informed that a US representative came to Nepal to take stock of the recent discussions between the two countries and the condition of the air safety.

"Today, an American official has arrived in Nepal," Shrestha said, adding, "He is discussing with authorities and various agencies of the government. Other officers will also come on the basis of necessity.”

He said that there will be no immediate decision as some procedures have to be completed for a bilateral air agreement.

Shrestha informed that the officials of the American aviation regulatory body have come to increase the environment of trust in the airspace of Nepal and America.

"Qatar Airways and Turkish Airways, which fly directly to America, are flying to Nepal," Shrestha said, "There is no problem with Nepal's air safety.” American officials have come to Nepal to take stock of the situation of the air security in Nepal.

ICAO has already submitted an audit report that Nepal's airspace is safe. The European Union (EU) has also conducted an audit of Nepal's air flights.

The report is yet to come. The concerned authority has been saying that Nepal's airspace will be removed from the EU's blacklist this month.

With Nepal being blacklisted, Nepali airlines have not been able to fly directly to Europe and America even if they wanted to.

Officials have said that the Nepal-US direct air flight agreement will make significant progress in the aviation sector after being removed from the EU's blacklist.
