Five former Indian Army Chiefs arriving Nepal

Five former chiefs of the Indian Army are coming to Nepal at the invitation of the Nepali Army.

Former Indian Army Chiefs Vishwa Nath Sharma, Joginder Jaswant Singh, Deepak Kapoor and Manoj Mukund Naravane are arriving in Nepal on Friday. One of them will arrive on Saturday morning.

Nepali Army had invited 11 chiefs of Indian Army on the occasion of its 260th Establishment Day. Five of them are arriving in Kathmandu, said Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the spokesperson of the Nepali Army.

Nepali Army is celebrating its 10th Establishment Day organizing a special ceremony after a decade. The 250th Establishment Day had been celebrated amidst a special ceremony 10 years ago.

There is a tradition to confer honorary title on the chiefs of Nepali Army and Indian Army. Indian Army Chief Manoj Pandey had come to Nepal on a five-day Nepal visit on September 4.

Nepali Army had conferred an honorary title of Chief of Army Staff on him during his visit.
