CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the ruling alliance will split anytime soon.

Speaking at a standing committee meeting of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), a student wing of the Unified Socialist, leader Nepal said the ruling alliance will meet its fate within a week.

“The fate of the ruling alliance will split anytime soon. Its fate will be decided within a week from now. The election of the president will decide the future political course of the country,” said Nepal.

Nepal further said the current ruling will not last for a long time owing to the differing political leanings held by coalition partners.

“Some forces in the coalition are pro-monarchy while the others are pro-federal democratic republic,” said, “Their course will part ways sooner or later. The coalition will break sooner or later due to this reason.

In the meeting hall of Tribhuwan University, Kirtipur, the standing committee meeting of the ANNFSU affiliated to the Nepal-led Unified Socialist is underway.

ANNFSU Spokesperson Milan Rai said the meeting is holding discussions on charting out strategic plans for Free Students Union elections to be held on March 19.
