Newly-appointed United States Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka on Friday.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interests to further deepening bilateral relations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thompson has intensified his engagements with Nepali leadership shortly after he presented credentials to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday. He will hold meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba soon.
Ambassador Thompson came to Nepal last week to take up his diplomatic assignment. He replaced Randy Berry, who was serving as the US ambassador since October 2018. Berry was recently appointed the US ambassador to Namibia.
