Civic leader and former minister Dr. Mathura Prasad Shrestha has passed away.
Shrestha passed away at Annapurna Hospital at 4:30 am on Monday morning.
Shrestha, who was also the health minister of the interim government of 2047 B.S., was known as a senior defender of the Human Rights movement.
His last rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat at 9 am on Monday.
Shrestha's body has been kept in the mortuary of TU Teaching Hospital at the request of his children abroad.
