Political parties involved in the old ruling alliance that existed before the general election are holding a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today evening.
The meeting will take place at the official residence in Baluwatar at 6 am, said a source close to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
“The meeting has been scheduled for 6 pm today,” said the source, “The top leaders of the four political parties will participate in the meeting.”
As the presidential election date inches closer, top leaders of political parties belonging to the old alliance have started scrambling to finalize the candidate.
Prime Minister Prachanda, who is batting for a national consensus, has held discussions with the leaders of the old ruling alliance after UML did not budge from its stance arguing that the presidential candidate should be from its party as per the deal sealed among the coalition partners.
Prime Minister Dahal held a meeting with Madhav Nepal, chairman of the CPN (Unified Samajbadi), at the Office of the CPN (Maoist Center)'s Parliamentary Party in Singha Durbar yesterday.
