Three parties fail to agree on election of President

CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) leaders met today to discuss the matter of the upcoming election of the President.

The meeting held at Singh Durbar discussed electing the next president on the basis of national consensus but no conclusion was reached, said CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Prakash Jwala. The name of our party president Madhav Nepal was also floated but nothing has been decided. He said discussion was also held about forming a left-socialist front.

Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', leaders Narayankaji Shrestha, Janardan Sharma and Shakti Basnet, Chairperson of Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal, leaders Beduram Bhusal, Ghanshyam Bhusal and Pramesh Hamal and President of JSP Upendra Yadav and leader Rajendra Shrestha participated in the meeting.

Earlier today, JSP Chairman Yadav had a meeting with Prime Minister Dahal and top leaders of the Maoist Center regarding the election of the Vice President.
