Four parties meeting at Baluwatar; to seal power-sharing deal

The meeting of the four parties trying to revive the old alliance has started at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting of the Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and CPN (Unified Socialist) has started in Baluwatar to reach an agreement on the presidential election.

Earlier, the meeting held for three hours on Friday morning was adjourned for 5 pm.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayankaji Shrestha, Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Senior Leader Ram Chandra Paudel, Deputy Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa from NC are participating in the meeting.

Similarly, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, Leader Rajendra Shrestha, Unified Samajbadi Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice Chairman Rajendra Pandey, General Secretary Beduram Bhusal, Leader Ghanshyam Bhusal and other leaders are participating in the meeting.

After the meeting, NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa informed that there was a positive discussion and that they would hold a meeting again at 5 pm.

The four parties have also prepared a discussion with the three fringe parties -- Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party --  of the House of Representatives at 6 pm on Friday.
