The meeting of the eight parties held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar to reach an agreement for the presidential election has come to an end.

The meeting has decided to put forward the candidate of Nepali Congress for the presidency.

CPN (Unified Socialist) Vice Chairman Prakash Jwala informed that the meeting has decided to support the NC for the presidential candidature. Jwala further said that the meeting, however, did not discuss the vice presidential candidacy.

He said that although the parties floated their respective claims, the eight parties have stood united to give the president to NC, the largest party in the parliament.
