CPN (UML) has decided that CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda could not survive under national/international pressure.

Chairman KP Sharma Oli gave a briefing on the latest political developments at the secretariat meeting held at the party's central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur on Saturday.

Oli said in the meeting that since the 7 parties that made Prachanda the prime minister stood at the same place on December 25, various forces are going to destroy it.

"Congress did not give the same vote of confidence to Prachandaji on January 10," an official told Nepal Khabar, quoting Oli's statement in the meeting, "International pressure started from that day. Prachandaji could not stand it.”

"He bowed down to national/international pressure", Oli said in the meeting.

The meeting has also decided to raise candidates according to the agreement of December 25.

"Since we agreed to take the president in the agreement forged on December 25, we have decided to stick to it and make our vice chair Subas Nemwang the presidential candidate," said the leader, "we will discuss with all parties except Nepali Congress for Subasji’s win."

UML is also not leaving the government immediately.

"According to the previous agreement, there is no reason to leave the government now," he said.
