Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stopped Foreign Minister Dr. Bimala Rai from leaving for Geneva on Sunday evening.
Organizing a press meet in Singha Durbar this morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had informed that Minister Rai was leaving for Geneva to attend a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Prime Minister Dahal has stopped Rai possibly due to the latest political developments in the country, sources have said.
Nepal was scheduled to submit a report on the achievements made in the sector of human rights in the Geneva meeting
Nepal is a member of the UN human rights council.
After attending the meeting in Geneva, Minister Rai was scheduled to fly to Doha to take part in the meeting of the Least Developed Countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
