Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it has not yet been decided who will lead the new government from the ruling coalition following the November 20 elections.

Deuba, who is also the Nepali Congress president, said this during an interaction with editors on Sunday evening.

“We have not discussed who will become the new prime minister within the ruling coalition yet,” Prime Minister Deuba said, adding, “But the ruling coalition will bring a majority in the upcoming elections and then the coalition government will be formed.”

He further said that there is no agreement about making him the Prime Minister for the fifth time.

“There is no agreement to make me prime minister again. We also have Madhav Nepal in the alliance. Madhav Nepal is the one who asked me to become the Prime Minister this time”, he said, “Madhav Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda have not asked for the Prime Minister either. We will take a decision on it following the elections.”

Meanwhile, Deuba claimed that the government will hold the upcoming elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner on November 20.

Commenting on CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Deuba said he never thought that Oli was such a double-faced hypocrite.

Following Oli's attempt to dissolve parliament was foiled by the Supreme Court twice, Deuba came to the leadership of the current coalition government.
