Kulman Ghising, Managing Director MD of Nepal Electricity Authority NEA, left Kathmandu to monitor the Tanahun Hydropower Project on Monday (March 20) morning.
While traveling along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, the vehicle carrying Ghising stopped near the electric charging station at Jungekhola in Dhading.
There was electric micro-charging on Narayangadh-Kathmandu route.
MD Ghising stopped for a while at the charging station while telling that the authority is encouraging electric vehicles across the country to increase electricity consumption.
Ghising also misbehaved with the micro driver who was kept in charge for a while.
The driver said that the cost of electric charging is much lower than that of diesel.
"Earlier Narayangadh-Kathmandu diesel used to cost 3,000," said the driver to Ghising, "now it will cost only 300."
Ghising told that the charging station has been installed at Jungekhola keeping in mind the possibility of high consumption of electricity due to the uphill road when coming from Naubise road section towards Thankot.
The Authority is currently operating 51 charging stations across the country.
According to NEA, most of the charging stations out of some 51 are ready.
