APF Club of Armed Police won the Lalitpur Mayor's Cup T20 cricket tournament for the second time in a row.
In the first match at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday, APF defeated Sudurpaschim by 15 runs. This is the first defeat that Sudurpaschim suffered in the ongoing tournament.
Chasing the 122-run target given by APF, Sudurpaschim could score only 106 runs by losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Kabita Kuwar topped the score with 51 runs for Sudurpaschim. She hit three fours and two sixes off 60 deliveries. Kabita Joshi made 26 runs while Samjhana Khadka was bowled out for 17 runs.
In reply, APF's Suman Bista took two wickets. Sita Rana Magar and Indu Burma claimed one wicket each for APF Club.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, APF notched up a total of 121 runs for the loss of two wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Openers Jyoti Pandey and Sita Ranamar shared a partnership of 36 runs for the first wicket. Jyoti was out for 13 runs.
Sita and Indu Burma shared 80 runs for the second wicket. Indu was caught out after scoring 45 runs. Faced with 37 balls, Indu hit 5 fours.
Captain Sita remained not out for 52 and Mamta Chaudhari for 3 runs.
Ishwari Bista of Sudurpaschim took one wicket.
With the win, APF is at the top with 2 points. Sudurpaschim is second with two points after losing one match and winning one match.
Lalitpur Mayor XI and Province 1 are locking horns in the second match today.
