Rasuwagadhi Checkpoint has fully come into operation starting today.

The checkpoint which was operating partially earlier has come into a two-way operation starting today.

With the full operation, businessmen, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders have been excited.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, in a twitter message, has congratulated both sides and vowed to deepen the bilateral ties in the days ahead.

"Congratulations! Passengers clearance at the Jilong (Rasuwa) Port has been resumed from today. Welcome the first batch of Nepali friends crossed the Rasuwa Bridge and entered China! I believe this will further deepen bilateral cooperation & people-to-people exchanges," Chinese Ambassador Chen twitted.

Narayan Prasad Bhandari, Chief Customs Officer of Rasuwa Customs Office, has said that keeping in mind the risk of coronavirus at the checkpoint, health checks have been set up.

It is estimated that 25 to 30 containers of goods will be imported from this checkpoint today.

China also banned the trade through the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung check point for a long time. The checkpoint, which has been stalled for three years, was brought into operation from December 28.

On the same day, six cargo trucks carrying Nepali goods entered Kerung, China.

But there is no significant improvement in the Nepal-China trade.
