NEPSE jumps whopping 92.22 points

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) jumped a whopping 92.22 points on Wednesday, the second last trading day of the week.

The benchmark index which continued spiraling down witnessed positive signs today after the Nepal Bankers’ Association decided to reduce the deposits' interest rate to a single digit.

With this decision, the share market went up by 4.93 percent to settle at 1963.55 points.

The share value of all 218 companies has gone up today, with the number of transactions increasing to 1.97 billion, up from less than 1 billion the other day.

Over six million shares have been bought and sold today.

Share prices of five companies increased by 10 percent today. They include Siddhartha Equity Fund, Citizen Mutual Fund, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme, Adarsha Microfinance and Khaptad Microfinance.

Shivam cement has the highest turnover in the market today. The turnover of the company is 117.1 million rupees.
